“…ethereal Scandinavian sound results in a very unique performance, which radiates the kind of warm feeling that you can only get from something that has come from far away where it is generally much colder.” The Seventh Hex, 2015

Moving between dreamlike pop and progressive rock, marked by lead vocalist Jonas Bierre’s melancholic voice, MEW evokes the refreshing sensation of a cool Scandinavian breeze.

In their latest album Visuals, the band followed an extraordinary and fascinating creative process in which the albums songs were first inspired by and based upon unique original images created by Bierre. Visuals is a condensed, high quality capsule of MEW’s artistic collaborations of the last two decades.

First erupting on the music scene in 1997, MEW has since received the Band of the Year award in Denmark as well as Best Album of the year award for Frengers, released in 2003. The band received four prizes at the Danish Music Awards for their album And the Glass Handled Kites released in 2005. Visuals, which will come out at the end of April 2017 is the group’s seventh album.
