Music People (Jerusalem)
On October 8, U2 singer Bono dedicated his show to the victims and survivors of the Nova Party. He said, “We sing to them, the music people,” and in one particularly brave statement, he created a common denominator for everyone who was there, for everyone who came to the concert, for everyone who has music in their blood.
Music People became the name of a unique social musical venture which is intended for gifted musicians from the Gaza Envelope area and the North. Especially for the Israel Festival, a unique musical evening has come together, with these young adults, and their sources of inspiration: Alma Gov, Marina Maximilian, Berry Sakharof, Alon Eder, and Karolina. The unique ensemble will perform original material by the young musicians, alongside classics and familiar hits by the more experienced performers. Together, everyone will try to play the music of these complicated times, and allow the sounds to delve deep inside.
* The show will take place at Kibbutz Dorot on September 12 and at the Jerusalem Theater on September 18. Marina Maximilian will perform at Kibbutz Dorot, Berry Sakharof will perform at the Jerusalem Theater.
An original production of the Israel Festival and Music People
