Jerusalem Orchestra East West meets the magical children’s book “Waiting for Nissim” by Etgar Keret and Shira Gefen, in a show that is not just for children.
The book tells the story of little Lev who insists on waiting for his friend Nissim, while other friends invite him to join them for colorful and tempting experiences.
In the stage adaptation created by Tom Cohen and Miri Lazar in the genre of program music (“Peter and the Wolf”) the Jerusalem Orchestra East West touches on a broad spectrum of musical styles, from Camille Saint-Saëns’s The Carnival of the Animals to the Israeli cult film “Hagiga BaSnuker.” The show also features a dance ensemble and of course Etgar Keret and Shira Gefen as Lev and Nissim.
