The Israel Festival is proud to open our 56th edition and launch the 50th Anniversary of Jerusalem’s Reunification with an electrifying groove party at the magical open air Sultan’s Pool, featuring Israel’s top emerging and established musicians.

Reflecting Israel’s rich diversity and the city’s multiculturalism, the event will bring together outstanding musical legends such as Teapacks and Knesiyat Hasekhel, pioneering bands who have profoundly influenced Israeli musical identity. Joining the lineup, the Firqat Alnoor Orchestra, made up of outstanding Jewish and Arab musicians who together with guest singer the one and only Nasreen Qadri, will bring us their unique east-west sound. Queen of Israeli-Indian groove Liora Itzhak will bring Bollywood to the stage while A-WA and Yemen Blues will rock with the hottest Yememite sound in the Middle-East. Complementing this exhilarating evening, the man who conquered You Tube and the world, Kutiman Orchestra.

The “Israeli groove” scene that has emerged in recent years gives expression to the fantastic, artistically exciting complexity of Israel’s society, producing surprising and original combinations of innovative western sound, quarter tones and Mediterranean rhythms, together with traditional and contemporary texts.

Join us for an evening of unforgettable sweeping grooves, filled with soul and rhythm that will keep you on your feet, dancing the night away with a huge smile of optimism and hope on your face.
