The Israel Festival will be celebrating its 60th year, and that’s just wow!
We feel tremendous pride and responsibility in being a link in the chain of this important artistic enterprise.
Itzik Giuli, who took part in leading the significant change and rejuvenation of recent years, has concluded his role as Artistic Director; we thank him for his work and wish him fruitfulness and enjoyment in his future endeavors.
We are excited for the next chapter of the festival and what it has in store for us.
The new artistic team, Michal Vaknin and Itay Mautner, are bringing with them much talent and experience in creating exciting content-rich events as part of the Jerusalem Season of Culture and the Mekudeshet Festival, during which they developed Contact Point, The In-House Festival, Window Stories, Shalem, The Opposite of Alive and more. And as part of the Pecha Kucha, the container at “Kan”, Ensemble Eitim, and more.
This is the first time in the history of the Israel Festival that the artistic direction is led by an artistic team, aiming at offering new working paradigms, undermine preconceived hegemonies, and implement a collaborative, original, unique and wide artistic thinking.
We eagerly anticipate and curious as to what comes next – see you at the next festival, 9-22.6.2021!
